Smoky
Mountain Academic
Resources & Training (SMART) has been offering educational
services to the
homeschool community for the past seven years. We are pleased to again
offer
the Woodcock – Johnson III (WJIII), IOWA achievement test, or Stanford achievement test.
All tests offered
by SMART meet NC Homeschool Law Testing Requirements.
When Should I Schedule? Right now! Students can test any month of the year with WJIII and the test will be normed to that month. Consider changing your testing date to fall to gain valuable diagnostic information to help plan your child’s academic year. It is best to get on our schedule as early as you can so that your time slot is not taken. Most clients booked 2 months in advance for the 2009 spring dates. Please contact one of the SMART Associates listed below directly to schedule an appointment or call me for a referral.
Woodcock – Johnson III Materials and Testing: Full battery package or basic battery package available in 2009. See www.smarttesting.net for details. SMART offers a new computer scoring program with the most current norms available. You will immediately receive a computerized score report. Your trained SMART Associate will explain and discuss your child’s scores.

Toni Owen: Masters of Arts in Education. Specializes in career planning for middle and high school students. 828-891-1330
Please call a SMART Associate directly to schedule a testing appointment. These talented ladies consider it a joy and ministry to work with your students.
WJIII Payment: Rates in 2009 are $80 for full battery and $60 for basic battery. Payment is due when testing session is booked. Registration forms should be downloaded from the SMART website (www.smarttesting.net) and sent to the associate of your choice.

Speaking Engagements: SMART Associates offer speaking engagements to the homeschool community upon request. Associates have spoken on the following topics: SAT Prep & Strategies, The College Application Process (geared for selective colleges), Tests for College Bound High Schoolers (ACT, PSAT, SAT), Writing the SAT Essay, Preparing for College, Homeschooling 101 (for the beginning homeschooler), Learning Styles, Games That Teach, Adding Adventure to Your Homeschooling, Testing 101, Preparing Middle Schoolers for High School and Transcript Preparation.
