Opting for S.M.A.R.T. for my daughter was a fantastic decision! Our examiner worked very well with her, showing kindness and patience. She clearly explained the results to me and gave helpful advice on how to improve our homeschooling to support my child's challenges. I plan to return annually for testing! Emails/texts were answered promptly and professionally. My daughter was nervous before she started, since it was her first time, but Mary provided her with a warm and safe space to help her feel comfortable. I needed to get testing done for reenrollment back into public school. I am so over the sun happy that I found S.M.A.R.T. testing and most of all got to have Mary Oliver in Sylva administer the test. Mary is amazing with her communication. I always received a reply and details. My child was so comfortable working with Mary. This made the testing much more relaxing and flowed well. I’m new to testing and this seemed like a great option and allowed him to be tested by someone other than me. It was awesome and very helpful. Mary was very nice and direct communication was on point. She works great with the kids, and it all went smoothly. We really enjoyed her and how sweet she was and how helpful. It has been very helpful to have a trained person give an impartial report of my child’s progress. Previously, I had her tested to ascertain where her academic levels were and it gave me direct feedback, as her father and I were her homeschooling teachers. It allowed us to make sure we were doing things “correctly “ and she was ready to enter school. Now she is transferring from that school, a private school in Georgia, to a public school in North Carolina. Having her tested this year allows me to ensure that her curriculum will be appropriately challenging, but not beyond what she is ready for, and that she gets placed correctly in mathematics and language arts. Ms. Oliver was excellent. She was prompt and answered all my questions perfectly. She made my daughter feel comfortable. She went through everything thoroughly and emailed me the expanded results right away.

I trust the results of the scoring. Since we don’t test for anything all year, this helps me to see if there’s any gaps in my son’s math and reading. She’s very friendly, and my son warmed up to her quickly. She’s also very patient and seems to be able to gently direct my son to the task at hand.

I have struggling readers, and the SMART associates were recommended to me by a friend a couple of years ago. The feedback is wonderful, and my kids surprisingly enjoy the testing. Mary is clear and concise. My kids each came out of the testing room with a smile on their faces. It’s a relief that they are able to do this without feeling stressed or upset. I like how the results show where I believe my children to be at as well. It usually isn’t a surprise to see how they scored. However, Mary often has tips or tricks to help me help them.
