Angelique and her family moved to Western North Carolina in 1998 and currently live in Clyde, NC. She opened their homeschool in January of 2000 and has taught her six children K-12, with her youngest currently in high school. Angelique has experience working with dyslexic learners and she firmly believes that each student has their own unique learning style, academic path, and interests.

When Angelique and her family moved to Western North Carolina, she connected with the growing local homeschool community and has been active in local co-ops, teaching K-12 classes, for many years. For the past twelve years, she has taught a high school literature class. She is an active volunteer with the Haywood county 4-H and has assisted with various programs such as Shooting Sports, Sewing, Electric Program and Photography. She is also very active in her church where she has been involved in teaching Sunday School classes as well as training youth to serve on the media and sound team.

She has guided her oldest five children through dual enrollment in the NC community college system and transitioning to college programs and universities. She enjoys consulting with homeschool families to help them navigate homeschooling options and make educational plans for the coming year.

After trying other tests, Angelique found that the Woodcock-Johnson Test administered by SMART was by far the most beneficial for her children. It was a test that her children enjoyed and only took a couple of hours to finish. The immediate results and detailed feedback from the test administrator was very helpful in planning out the next academic year. These yearly consults revealed several insights on her children’s learning styles and needs.

Angelique graduated from the University of Idaho with a BA in French and Economics. She was able to participate in two study abroad programs at French Universities. Her husband, Doug, was an officer in the US Army and they were stationed in Arizona, New York and the country of Panama. She was introduced to homeschooling while living in Panama for three years and became intrigued with the idea as she learned more about it. As her children started to become old enough to start school, Angelique realized that the flexibility of homeschooling would be the best option for all of her children and their learning styles.
