This is our first year in homeschool, so I was seeking assistance to meet the state annual testing requirement.  I also wanted a test that would assist me with planning the curriculum for next year.  Having someone administer the test was extremely helpful.  Heather Ertzberger was very knowledgeable and provided me with extremely helpful information.  My son gets very anxious and does not do well in test settings.  She made him feel very comfortable, which was much appreciated.  She provided very clear instructions for where to go, what to bring, etc. She did an excellent job of making him comfortable and made the testing as painless as possible. All of the reviews I read about SMART were excellent, and I agree. The process was straightforward, and Heather was amazing. We received a great deal of useful information from the test results and fulfilled our yearly testing requirement. I couldn’t have asked for a smoother/better process. The Woodcock-Johnson test with SMART seemed like the best option to accompany what I wanted our homeschool to look like.  Low stress for the children, a measure of progress as opposed to a measure based on memorized facts. We were looking for a more comprehensive testing approach and wanted more than just arbitrary number results. Research and word of mouth suggested Woodcock-Johnson and S.M.A.R.T.. We’ve been very pleased with the entire testing experience with S.M.A.R.T. and Heather, and really appreciate the in-depth explanations about results and scoring. She’s always friendly and prompt. She was welcoming and put them at ease. She went over all test results in detail and how they are scored. The Woodcock-Johnson was recommended by a friend as a good test and she was closest tester to Morehead City, NC. So far it seems helpful.
